After the announcement of the partnership between Ducati and Mercedes AMG at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year the alliance has finally revealed its first fruit: the Ducati Diavel AMG Special Edition.

This matte black jewel featuring distinctive styling from both brands will be shown at the 64^th international Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany, which runs from the 15th to 25th of September.

The special edition is based on the Ducati Diavel Carbon which was first-produced in 2010 with a 4 cylinder 1200cc engine able to explode in 162bhp, easily becoming the leader of its category. Ducati has not yet announced any details of the engine mounted on the Special Edition AMG, we will have to wait until Frankfurt. But we can just envisage that this production house famous for its hand-made engines wont disappoint their fans by merely presenting a re-styled exterior. Hopefully we  will enjoy a special edition engine together with the new look.

The AMG Special Edition will featured AMG's signature 5-spoke wheel style, carbon fibre lateral radiator grills with aluminium trim and AMG-style horizontally ribbed seat upholstered in Alcantara. Every bike will have its Desmodromic cam-timing set up by hand by Ducati's technicians and will use the same Desmo valve which made Casey Stoner MotoGP champion in 2007.

Each engine will be laser-engraved with the name of its personal engineer on its left side. In order  to rove beyond any doubt the exclusivity of each bike a numbered plaque will be placed on the fuel tank and dedicated apparel, composing of a leather jacket and a helmet, will be complement for every order made since the opening day of the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The price has not been unveiled yet, but it will definitely be higher of basic Diavel Carbon's, which is currently priced around £17,000. It is a quite big investment then, but this is a fantastic top of the range motorcycle which combines elegant style and meticulous attention to the details of its engineering.
